Company Description

B.A. Schmidt Arts creates sculptural porcelain tiles based on mythic and nature themes. Every tile is handcrafted by the company’s president and artist, Barbara Schmidt. Many tiles are inspired by fairytale illustrations from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including mermaids, knights, princesses in towers, magical ships and imaginary beasts. The nature tiles, molded directly from plants, are so realistic that the leaves or seeds appear preserved directly in the clay. The tiles are especially appropriate for use in a garden, pool area, fireplace surround, children’s bathroom, kitchen, master bathroom or guest bathroom.
